Heat Pump Hybrid

Ranging from 40 to 80 gallons, this tank style water heater is extremely efficient in the right situation. A heat pump compressor on top of the tank utilizes existing heat in the air to heat water from your home with backup electric elements when demand is high.

The Department of Energy estimates that heat pump hybrid water heaters can be up to three times more efficient than a standard atmospheric water heater. By using a compressor similar to the ones found in refrigerators, a heat pump hybrid can use air with a temperature as little as 40 degrees to heat water for home use.

Tankless

Tankless water heaters maximize efficiency by only heating water when you need it, eliminating the stand-by heat loss of conventional tank style water heaters. The tankless heater provides endless hot water. Sizing a unit for your home typically depends on incoming water temperature which affects the gallons per minute of hot water a tankless unit can produce. It’s estimated that a low to average water use home can see an efficiency increase between 24 and 34 percent when switching to tankless from a conventional tank storage heater.

Power Direct Vent

This tank storage style heater is an improvement over the classic design found in most homes. Directly venting to the exterior improve efficiency and eliminates the chance of flu gas entering the living space. Improvements in tank insulation reduces stand-by loss.

Storage Replacement (gas/electric)

The classic water heater, the most popular size for single family homes being 50 gallon. These water heaters can be gas fired or electric. The most important performance consideration between natural/propane gas and electric water heaters is recover time. Gas heaters can recover at almost twice the rate as electric heaters. Gas heaters are estimated to be more cost effective over the lifespan of your water heater. Electric heaters are the more efficient choice for the environmentally conscious, transferring nearly all of the consumed resource to water as heat.

Gas fired storage heaters need to be vented to the exterior of the building and use air from the space it sits in for combustion. Venting and combustion air are important factors when choosing a gas fired water heater.

A conventional atmospheric water heater swap in a tight space. Tried, true and good for any budget.

A fresh Navien 240A install. Great for homes where capacity and space is a concern.
